About Gareth WoodGareth Wood is a professional facilitator, organizational development consultant, executive coach and keynote speaker. Gareth brings 25 years of experience facilitating 'people working with people' and leadership issues in the commercial printing, destination resort, outdoor adventure and business consulting industries. His responsibilities and experience included customer service, training, administration and management positions. More recently, Gareth has worked the last 19 years as an independent facilitator, trainer and leadership expert. He owns and operates, Gareth Wood Associates (1992) Inc., in Victoria, Canada and has facilitated, touched and inspired audiences around the world. At one time a mountaineering and outdoor adventure instructor, Gareth's organizational, administrative and training abilities, together with his outdoor leadership skills, were put to the test in 1985/86 when he served as Logistics Coordinator and Base Commander for a British Antarctic expedition. Gareth and two Britons trekked 900 miles on foot to the South Pole. They were the first in history to accomplish such a journey without support - no dog teams, food caches, air-support or radio communications. Recognized as one of the great human feats of the 20th century, the team was personally awarded Polar Medals by Queen Elizabeth II. Combining his business and professional expertise with his expedition and Antarctic experiences, Gareth brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the challenge of helping people and organizations achieve their BEST YEAR YET. He has developed a unique knowledge and understanding of the elements required for breakthrough performance.
